Operating as a branch of DKSH Malaysia, Harpers Trading (Brunei) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in 1989, and covers Brunei and Bandar Seri Begawan.
We serve a network of 300 customers and 12 suppliers. Our team comprises 17 specialists.
History
A proud history in Asia
The company’s history extends back to 1867, when three enterprising managers left the Borneo Company Ltd. to start up on their own. Pooling their experience and expertise, Samuel Gilfillan, William Adamson, and H.W Wood set up Gilfillan, Wood & Co. in Singapore. In 1886, Archie Charles Harper arrived in Selangor as its first European trader. He set up A.C. Harper & Co., initially to import horse fodder.
Sometime between 1930 and 1935, A.C Harper & Co. and Gilfillan merged to create the Harper Gilfillan Group, whose activities spread throughout Malaysia and Brunei.
Harpers Trading (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in December, 1974, as the trading arm of the Harper Gilfillan Group. Harper Gilifillan later sold its interests in Malaysia, including Harpers Trading (Malaysia), which was purchased by Diethelm (now known as DKSH Malaysia Sdn Bhd) in 1987.

Our Consumer Goods Business Unit operations, managed out of our Harpers branch, cover the fast moving consumer goods, food, non-food, beverage, pet food, and personal care industries.
Our Healthcare Business Unit covers the OTC medicine, pharmaceutical, consumer health, and medical devices industries. Healthcare products are distributed by our strategic partner Medipharm.
