Zurich, Switzerland, September 14, 2012 – DKSH’s Business Unit Performance Materials, a leading specialty chemicals distributor, has started a strategic partnership with WACKER. Under the exclusive distribution agreement, DKSH will market WACKER’s Biosolutions products: fermenter cysteine and bioengineered cyclodextrins, which are premium sugar compounds marketed under the CAVASOL® and CAVAMAX® trademarks. The new regional agreement covers the whole of South East Asia, Greater China and parts of the India subcontinent, specifically India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

WACKER is the world’s only company to produce vegetarian cystine and cysteine using an award-winning biotechnology process. The cysteine is purely vegetarian without any human or animal origin, hence ideally suitable for food applications such as bakery products or flavors. Moreover, it is also used in personal care products. Applications for cyclodextrins range from food and dietary supplement to personal care products.
