Platform to introduce Japanese food ingredients in Thailand

Challenge

One of the biggest barriers for some Japanese food ingredient suppliers is an inability to quickly expand or reach out to new customers in South East Asia, including in Thailand. This is largely due to the lack of connectivity to customers and distribution networks in the region.

Approach

To help those suppliers keen on entering Thailand, we invited them over to participate in a unique one-day mini trade show event focusing entirely on Japanese food ingredients. The invite-only event featured cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, technical seminars, business introductions and matching opportunities for Japanese suppliers and Thailand-based manufacturers and business professionals.

The aim was to raise awareness of the latest trends and innovations in Japanese food ingredients, as well as to receive first-hand insights on both customers and local market demand.

Result

The event provided a direct and market-specific platform for Japanese suppliers and Thailand customers to meet up and forge closer ties in an exciting and effective way.

More than 225 visitors responded via a visitors' survey to confirm extreme satisfaction with the event and the business opportunities that were generated as result.
