DKSH supports a local community hospital in India

DKSH has partnered with ImPaCCT Foundation, a department of paediatric oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, to support the cancer treatment of children from poor family backgrounds.

Mumbai, India, July 29, 2020 – DKSH India has joined forces with ImPaCCT Foundation and Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai to enable subsidized cancer treatment for children from rural areas and less privileged backgrounds. The treatment includes the cancer diagnosis as well as the therapy process.

The foundation targeted towards Improving Paediatric Cancer Care and Treatment (ImPaCCT), has been set up by the hospital to look after children with cancer. The provided fund will be primarily used for the initial registration and treatment along with the provision of food and other essentials to the underprivileged children and their families who visit the hospital for diagnosis.

This collaboration is in line with DKSH’s sustainability initiatives, through which the company creates opportunities for development and improvement across society. DKSH is deeply rooted in the communities it serves and strives to create positive impacts beyond business activities. A strong commitment to the local communities that the company is active in has always been an integral part of its business.

Shalini Jatia, Secretary, ImPaCCT Foundation, stated: “We are extremely thankful to DKSH for their generous support of this good cause. This will benefit 100 children with cancer, coming for treatment from all over the country. The partnership will help us improve paediatric cancer care and treatment at the hospital and ideally also the outcomes of pediatric cancer patients.”

Atul Nagarkar, Managing Director, DKSH India, commented: “Enriching people’s lives is the main purpose of our business and we are determined to put these words into action by supporting our local communities during these challenging times. We hope our contribution will help in the children’s cancer diagnosis and therapy process.”
