Maximum information from each specimen LIGHTNING

Maximize the information you extract from your specimen and get in-depth answers to scientific questions with the LIGHTNING detection package for image information extraction.

LIGHTNING fully automatically detects the finest structures and details, which are otherwise simply not visible. The key technology of LIGHTNING is an adaptive process for extraction of hidden information in the image. Unlike traditional technologies, that use a global set of parameters for the full image, LIGHTNING calculates an appropriate set of parameters for each voxel to uncover every detail with the highest fidelity.

What’s more, the LIGHTNING detection concept extends the TCS SP8 confocal microscope by simultaneous multicolor super-resolution imaging at the full original speed.

With LIGHTNING, in one click you

  • reveal the most information from your images and resolve nanoscale structures down to 120 nm
  • obtain real-time results even for ambitious experimental conditions

STED Nanoscopes Leica TCS SP8 STED

Nanoscopy has revolutionized the study of subcellular architecture and dynamics and is on its way to becoming the new gold standard in fluorescence imaging (Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2014).

The fully integrated STED (STimulated Emission Depletion) systems Leica TCS SP8 STED 3X and Leica TCS SP8 STED ONE meet the requirements of daily research and provide fast, intuitive, and purely optical access to structural details far beyond the diffraction limit.
Resolution becomes tunable in x, y and z.

LightSheet microscope Leica TCS SP8 DLS

Benefit from two dedicated imaging systems in one: With the Leica TCS SP8 DLS (Digital LightSheet) you get a full confocal with gentle single plane illumination in one microscope. Through the invention of the TwinFlect mirror, we turned our confocal platform Leica TCSSP8 into an easy-to-use, versatile light sheet microscope.

CARS Microscope - Label Free Imaging Leica TCS SP8 CARS

Staining is unnecessary when imaging specimens with the TCS SP8 CARS (Coherent anti-Stokes Raman Scattering) confocal microscope. The CARS technology exploits image contrast arising from characteristic vibrational states of different molecules within a specimen. As no labeling is required, the specimen remains almost unaffected from preparation and imaging.

Users benefit from its ability to image, at high speed and resolution, a wide range of live specimens, including cells, tissues, and even small organisms. To achieve this performance, the microscope offers visible, infrared (IR), and ultraviolet (UV) lasers, second harmonic generation (SHG), and CARS.

Due to its flexibility and convenient handling, the TCS SP8 CARS is a superb instrument for research institutes and multi-user facilities.

White Light Laser Confocal Microscope Leica TCS SP8 X

The white light laser source of the Leica TCS SP8 X perfectly matches the wavelength of any fluorophore. Up to eight excitation lines can be used – simultaneously. By tuning both excitation and detection, complete excitation emission spectra can be acquired.

With this spectral information, any dye can be optimally excited with minimum cross-excitation and specimen damage. In addition, the pulsed White Light Laser (WLL) supplies excitation light for fluorescence lifetime measurements.

FLIM provides information about the direct environment of a molecule, like local pH or binding to another molecule.

High-resolution Spectral Confocal for Daily Research and Routine Examinations Leica TCS SPE
