Enriching People’s Lives With Record-Breaking Diabetic Screenings Articles

Diabetes is a growing concern in Malaysia, with statistics from the National Health and Morbidity Survey revealing that more than 18% of the adult population, or 3.5 million people, have prediabetes.

In response, the government launched a national health promotion campaign to educate and motivate the public to assess their personal risk, get tested, and work with healthcare professionals to manage prediabetes. The primary risk factors for prediabetes include being overweight, having a family history of diabetes, and being physically inactive.

Aligned with this objective, the DKSH Malaysia Medical Devices Team recently supported Regency Specialist Hospital’s attempt to achieve the highest number of HbA1c screenings within three days. During the event, screenings utilized our partner’s HbA1c analyzer, the only FDA-approved POCT analyzer for aiding diabetes diagnosis, providing rapid results within three minutes.

The event saw nearly 3,200 participants receive complimentary diabetes screenings and health consultations. This successful initiative was officially recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records.
