The event is part a series of DKSH initiatives across Asia on the occasion of “Patient Purpose Day” which take place throughout September. This year, the focus is on elder care, acknowledging the urgent requirement to support the region’s aging populations through collaborative community efforts.
With the region’s rapidly aging population, by 2050, one in four individuals in the region is projected to be aged 60 or older. DKSH is dedicated to improving the well-being of elderly communities across Asia, focusing on key areas like cardiovascular health, diabetes, ophthalmology, and respiratory care. This commitment reflects DKSH’s broader mission to provide better healthcare for all, emphasizing a patient-centric approach and the importance of elder care.
Thai Red Cross Society's Eye Clinic and Surgery project of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, provides essential eye care to elderly individuals and patients in remote areas of Thailand. By organizing the “DKSH Patient Purpose Day Run 2024”, DKSH has helped raise funds to support patients in rural areas suffering from eye diseases such as retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma.

The generous donation will be put to great use by the Thai Red Cross Society in improving the lives of patients nationwide.
