DKSH Indonesia's range of food and beverage ingredients and animal-derived halal raw materials for personal care and cosmetics applications has been successfully certified for compliance with Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Law.
Media release
Jakarta, Indonesia, March 15, 2020 – Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Law was imposed on October 17, 2019 and is regulated by Indonesia's National Body of Halal Assurance (BPJPH). The regulation requires companies to attain halal certifications for food and beverage products developed since October 2019 and other categories, such as cosmetics, drugs, chemicals (for human consumption) and genetically modified products sold in Indonesia starting from October 2021.
DKSH Indonesia's Business Unit Performance Materials can provide halal-certified materials for its applicable product range, adding greater assurance for its valued business partners. DKSH also provides regulatory consultation to support the importation of halal raw materials and offers formulation guidance from its innovation centers for working with halal raw materials. DKSH formulation specialists collaborate with companies to develop tailor-made solutions that reduce time-to-market and increase their competitive advantage.
Chookitch Thanakitkachorn, General Manager, Performance Materials, DKSH Indonesia, commented: "Our customer base of manufacturers and, in turn, Indonesian consumers, can now be assured that DKSH's ingredients for food and beverage, personal care as well as cosmetics applications are considered safe to use in accordance with the Halal Product Assurance Law, as mandated by the Indonesian government.”
