DKSH Hong Kong has announced a new partnership with 5-hour ENERGY®, a dietary supplement brand from the United States, which will be made available on shelves in Hong Kong and Macau.
Media release
Hong Kong, October 22, 2020 – DKSH, the leading Market Expansion Services provider for fast moving consumer goods, has partnered with 5-hour ENERGY®. As part of the agreement, DKSH will provide the American dietary supplement brand with a full agency service package, managing marketing and sales, distribution and logistics as well as back-end support for both of its Hong Kong and Macau markets.
5-hour ENERGY® intends to capitalize on DKSH's strong infrastructure, broad network, in-depth consumer trade expertise and ability to maximize and grow brand awareness as well as enhance product visibility, accessibility and availability in the market. Field marketing and distribution through modern trade, general trade and digital platforms are dominant elements in the development blueprint.
DKSH and 5-hour ENERGY® have been working together in Singapore since April in 2019 with a full agency service. Previously, the brand‘s Hong Kong division managed all marketing and sales functions, therefore, the integration of this function to DKSH Hong Kong represents their confidence to DKSH's market proficiency and capability to further evolve the brand. In turn, the partnership deepens DKSH's product portfolio and diversifies its industry channels.
Composed of B-vitamins and natural caffeine from tea as well as being completely sugar-free, the energy shots are available in different flavors: Orange Regular Strength 5-hour ENERGY® and Peach Tea Regular Strength 5-hour ENERGY®. An extra strength flavor, Cool Mint Lemonade Extra Strength 5-hour ENERGY®, will also be featured among the range of products available in stores in Hong Kong and Macau.
Karen Ang, Marketing Director APAC of 5-hour ENERGY®, said: “Hong Kong is one of the most charismatic cities with a non-stop schedule. Partnering with DKSH Hong Kong allows us to offer healthier options to the busy consumers to help balance their well-being, while still boosting mental power so they can deliver their best performance at everything they do. We are confident that DKSH is the right partner for us based on our past experience and DKSH's expertise in bringing a brand to market.”
Nicole McMillan, Vice President, FMCG, Hong Kong and Group FMCG Marketing, DKSH, is equally pleased about the partnership: “Our local Hong Kong DKSH team is delighted to welcome 5-hour ENERGY® Drink into our portfolio. We are keen to build on the success achieved by the partnership between 5-hour ENERGY® Drink and DKSH in Singapore. DKSH's ability to partner with clients seeking a regional footprint in Asia is testament to the strength of our network capability.”
