DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods and its valued business partner, BOVET 1822, a Swiss manufacturer of luxury timepieces, announce the grand opening of “BOVET Boutique Ginza” – the first flagship store in Japan.
Media release
Tokyo, Japan, July 31, 2019 – DKSH Japan and BOVET 1822, a Swiss manufacturer of luxury timepieces, will open “BOVET Boutique Ginza” on the first floor of the new shopping facility “I liv” in Ginza on August 1, 2019. Owners, collectors and fans of these artistic timepieces can enjoy a diverse range of exceptional BOVET 1822 timepieces, available at the boutique.
The BOVET 1822 story begins in Fleurier in 1822. The luxury pocket watches in 18k gold that the Bovet family developed were highly appreciated by the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty and aristocrats in the 19th century for their beautiful decoration of enamels and pearls. For the past centuries, BOVET has manufactured remarkable timepieces, taking decorative arts, along with technical refinement and innovation, to a level that remains unrivaled to this day. The presence of the house BOVET in the most prestigious art museums around the world is evidence for this. Whether conveyed through miniature painting, Grand Feu enamel, engravings or stone settings, Bovet's traditional handcrafted watchmaking combines cutting-edge mechanics with the art of adorning a timepiece.
With the opening of the flagship store, Mr. Pascal Raffy, Owner of BOVET 1822, said: “The opening of a BOVET boutique in Ginza is the expression of our will to offer our esteemed Japanese collectors a unique experience. With DKSH as our business partner, we will showcase the “Engineering Brilliance” of BOVET, based on true watchmaking values as our unparalleled ability to innovate.“
Michael Loefflad, President & Representative Director of DKSH Japan, commented: “I am delighted to announce the opening of the very first BOVET flagship store, located in a prime location, just one minute's walk from Ginza Crossing. The store features a variety of BOVET's intricately decorated, high-quality timepieces. This is another great example of how DKSH brings distinguished European brands to the Japanese market.”
