Millex® Syringe filters set the standard for reliable small volume filtration (1 mL to 200 mL).
Available in 4, 13, 25, 33, and 50 mm diameters
Minimal hold-up volume for less sample loss of small volumes and are ideal for solutions such as antibiotics and tissue culture additives. Their unsurpassed quality and consistency of results has led to the development of many sample preparation methods that specify Millex® filters.
Manufactured for reliable performance
Manufacturing occurs in a controlled environment using an automated process. Sterile devices are provided with a certificate of quality.
Faster flow rate
33 mm Millex filters have 20% more filter surface than 25 mm filters for significantly higher flow rate and throughput.
Higher operating pressure
With a maximum housing pressure of 150 psig (10 bar), solutions can be filtered faster.
Low extractables, low binding
A variety of membranes and housings ensure chemical compatibility with a range of samples and solvents.

Stericap™ PLUS filters directly into any vacuum-rated bottle or other container with an inner neck diameter of 20 to 67 mm.
A handheld automated cell counter that could count the cell number in your sample accurately within 30 second using the Coulter Principle. It has been validated to use with many cell types such as NIH 3T3 Cells, Jurkat Cells, K562 cells, Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells, PBMC (Cultured), CD3+ T Cells, Human RBC (EDTA) cells and many more.
Simplify your cell analysis by using the Millicell® EZ SLIDE to culture, fix, stain and view your sample all in one device. There’s no need to remove the media chamber from the slide prior to fixing or staining. Easily remove wells without worrying about breaking slides or harming cells. Acquire data simply and quickly with Millicell® EZ SLIDEs.

The Millicell® ERS (Electrical Resistance System) reliably measures membrane potential and resistance of epithelial cells in culture [or the Trans Epithelial Electrical REsistance (TEER)]. This device qualitatively measures cell monolayer health and quantitatively measures cell confluence. An increase in TEER detected with the electronic circuit of the Millicell® ERS-2 meter and its electrode is an indication of cell monolayer health and confluence. A silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) pellet on each electrode tip measures voltage. Due to the small size of the electrodes, the user can easily measure transepithelial voltage and the resistance of cells grown on microporous membranes. Please note: MERS00002 (Millicell® ERS-2) is a replacement for MERS00001 (Millicell®-ERS). This system is for research only.
The Millicell® ERS-2 system uses alternating current (AC) to make membrane resistance measurements. Using an isolated AC source has several advantages over the traditional use of direct current (DC):
The CellASIC® ONIX2 System incorporates extraordinary improvement to additional live cell observation and experimentation, using advanced microfluidics technology with computer automation to manipulate the culture environment under controlled conditions while allowing you to monitor the cell as they react in real time.
This second generation CellASIC® ONIX2 Microfluidic System is backed by a strong history to distinctive publications, stringent, globally certified manufacturing and quality processes, and also with local service and support.
No matter what application you’re working with, Merck has a plate developed to meet your specific needs. MultiScreen plates have a long history as a reliable tool for the advancement of drug discovery and life science research.
HTS Filter Plates
MultiScreenHTS plates are specifically developed for high-throughput use with automated work stations. Rigid sidewalls improve handling and ample surfaces are provided for barcode labels. Wells are individually sealed to prevent incubation crosstalk and the underdrain is removable for access to the filters. Filter plates are available in 96- and 384-well platforms with a broad selection of membranes and plastics.
MultiScreen® High Volume Filter Plates
Looking for a filter plate that holds 2 mL per well? The MultiScreen® High Volume filter plate can process up to 2 mL of aqueous and organic solutions, with best-in-class discrete and quantitative filtrate transfer to a custom designed 96-well MultiScreen® High Volume collection plate using the MultiScreen®HTS vacuum manifold. The MultiScreen® High Volume filter plate is fully automation-compatible and complies with ANSI Deepwell Plate standards. Choose between Durapore® (PVDF) and glass fiber high volume filter plates.
Classic Filter Plates
The original multiwell design is valuable for many applications which require immersing the filter in an assay tray. The easily removable underdrain and unique plate design are ideal for assays such as Elispot, PAMPA, cell screening (migration, invasion or chemotaxis) or for topcount detection users.
MultiScreen®HTS Vacuum Manifold
The MultiScreen®HTS Vacuum manifold was designed specifically to work with MultiScreen®HTS filter plates. The combination results in optimal filtration characteristics and seamless automation integration.
Millicell® Hanging Cell Culture Inserts are sterile, general purpose devices for the growth and differentiation of various cell types. Uniquely designed flanges suspend the insert in an off-center position within the culture plate well, facilitating pipetting by creating a larger space to one side. Millicell® hanging inserts make it possible to study both sides of the cell monolayer and are excellent tools in co-culturing and permeability assays.
Key Millicell® Hanging Cell Culture key features
Our standing inserts promote excellent cell growth and are ideally suited for cell studies. Attachment or suspension cells can access media from both their apical and basolateral sides. Cell growth, structure, and function more closely mimic what occurs in vivo. In addition, Millicell® inserts make it possible to study both sides of the cell monolayer.
Millicell® Standing Cell Culture key features
For high cell viability and study of 3D explant structure, the Millicell® organotypic insert is extremely biocompatible. Explants readily adhere to its surface without an extracellular matrix. This unique membrane can sustain cell growth for as long as 40 days, with excellent trans-membrane oxygen transport.
