The history of the ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS brand starts on June 13, 1731. It was on that day that knife-maker Peter Henckels from Solingen registered the "Twin" symbol as his trademark with the Cutlers´ Guild of Solingen.

This makes the brand which enjoys renown all over the world also one of the oldest trademarks in the world.

Henckels’ international distribution covers more than 100 countries and occupies a world-wide leading position with knives and household scissors, significant market shares in important markets,; and world-wide brand awareness.

Care treatment of knives

Always remember, though, that even stainless steel knives are never 100% rustproof. Therefore rinse off acids (e.g. from fruit and vegetable juices, mustard, ketchup) from the blade immediately after use. Should stains appear after all, they can easily be removed with a standard non-abrasive metal cleaner.
