DKSH and Felchlin join Salon du Chocolat 2020 in Japan for the fourth consecutive year.
Media release
Tokyo, Japan, January 10, 2020 – DKSH Japan and Felchlin, a Swiss chocolate manufacturer with a history of over a century, will join the Salon du Chocolat 2020 trade show from January 27 to February 2 in Tokyo, Japan.
Salon du Chocolat is a festival of chocolate that first took place in 1995 in Paris, celebrating its 18th anniversary in Japan in 2020. The main appeal of this event is that it provides opportunities for consumers to not only meet chocolate manufacturers from around the world, but also the chocolatiers and experience their works first-hand.
Felchlin's couverture – made of cacao from carefully selected, contract farmers and rare meadow milk – targets patissiers as well as chocolatiers and is used by them globally. Salon du Chocolat is the only platform for consumers to purchase Felchlin's chocolate products in Japan.
At the event, Felchlin will showcase five innovative products, including the two new couvertures: "Caramelito 36%", a milk couverture with caramel taste, and "Elvesia République Dominicaine 74% – 72H", which is made of fine cacao from the Dominican Republic created in a 72-hour long conching process, which refers to the heating and mixing of the ingredients of chocolate.
Felchlin's CEO, Christian Aschwanden said: “We are very honored to participate once again at this world-renowned event. As Felchlin conducts only B2B business, we are very happy to present our chocolate products to consumers on this occasion and be able to learn more about their preferences and requirements.”
Michael Loefflad, President & Representative Director of DKSH Japan, commented: “We are delighted to collaborate again at this important event with our valued partner, Felchlin, the premium Swiss chocolate manufacturer. It makes us very proud to introduce two exciting new flavors chosen especially for this event. We hope that many customers will make use of this opportunity and enjoy the rich-tasting chocolates from an outstanding Swiss chocolate manufacturer.”
