DKSH is going to join the government-led initiative "Telework Days 2019" for the first time in Japan.
Media Release
Tokyo, Japan, July 5, 2019 – "Telework Days 2019" is an initiative led by the Japanese government together with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and other related organizations. This year will mark the third execution since this project started. In total, 600,000 employees from 3,000 organizations are expected to join between July 22 and September 6. This program is part of a national movement to reform the working style as well as to prepare for the decrease of the working population caused by the aging society.
This is the first time for DKSH Japan joins this initiative. July 24 has officially been set as the “Telework Day“, when employees can choose to work from home or shorten their working hours by using a flexible working time system.
Michael Loefflad, Representative Director and President at DKSH Japan, has implemented various initiatives to improve the employees' work-life-balance at DKSH's Japanese operations. A flexible working time system and "Premium Friday" – a Japanese government-led initiative to encourage workers to leave the office at 3 p.m. on the last Friday of every month – are some examples. Loefflad is also encouraging employees to take days off from time to time and go on longer vacations, as it is the custom in Europe. DKSH Japan will continue to proactively support diverse work styles of the employees.
