DKSH Myanmar expands cold chain distribution capabilities to Mandalay

DKSH, the leading Market Expansion Services provider with a focus on Asia, has opened a new distribution center for its Business Units Consumer Goods and Healthcare in Mandalay, Myanmar. The new opening will further strengthen the company's cold chain capabilities in South East Asia.

Media release

Mandalay, Myanmar, November 16, 2018 – DKSH Myanmar is strengthening its presence in Myanmar by opening a 1,340 square meter distribution center which is Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliant and has advanced cold chain capabilities.

This new distribution center adheres to DKSH's strict standards for storage, product handling and safety. Using separate temperature-controlled storage space for healthcare products and processes to ensure proper and safe handling of products, the Mandalay distribution center is connected to DKSH's global SAP platform. This enables DKSH's modern fleet to deliver products to customers across the country, including providing vaccines and other temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals to the more rural areas of the country. “Cold chain” is a temperature-controlled supply chain required to preserve and ensure the shelf life of products, such as fresh agricultural products, seafood, frozen food and pharmaceutical drugs.

Dan Culverhouse, Head of Supply Chain Management, DKSH, added: “With over 20 years presence in Myanmar, DKSH continues to invest in state-of-the-art infrastructure and capacity in the market to ensure we can supply life-saving medicine and vaccines to areas that are typically less well-connected. Having a distribution hub in Mandalay is a big step ensuring we reach more people across Myanmar.”

The new facilities strengthen DKSH's capillary distribution network in Myanmar and contribute to the Group's reputation as the leading Market Expansion Services provider with focus on Asia.
