Media release
Bangkok, May 12, 2020 - DKSH (Thailand) Limited, the leading Market Expansion Services provider with a focus on Asia, has partnered with Loxley Public Company Limited to trialthe use of BYD's T3 100% electric van at its Bang Na KM 20 Distribution Center in Bangkok to tackle the PM 2.5 air pollution crisis and to promote zero-emission solutions. The van will operate two to three trips a day to transport DKSH's consumer goods products to clients and customers within proximity of the distribution center. This partnership marks the first-ever launch of an electric transport vehicle in DKSH's supply chain operation.
The T3 electric van from BYD is designed to provide high performance with low energy consumption. Powered by BYD's proprietary NCM battery with a capacity of 50.3 kWh, this van produces zero emissions and features a driving range of 300km on a single charge. In addition, the regenerative brake system allows kinetic energy to be converted into electricity and recharges the battery as the van brakes or accelerates. By offering an eco-friendly and cost-efficient alternative, these features make BYD's T3 the perfect vehicle for logistics transportation.
Neil McCann, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, DKSH Thailand, commented: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to test BYD's T3 100% electric van at our Bang Na KM 20 Distribution Center. DKSH has an ambitious modernization program across all elements of our supply chain. Developing long- term, sustainable solutions is a key part of our strategy. Through its zero-emissions and energy-saving features, BYD's T3 model can significantly contribute to achieving this goal. This partnership will undoubtedly allow us to deliver our distribution and logistics services for our clients more sustainably, while ensuring that we remain the trusted partner for businesses looking to grow in Thailand.”
Suravoot Milintangul, Senior Manager at L Automotive Company Limited, a subsidiary of Loxley Public Company Limited, added: “Loxley is a leader in the electric vehicle business. We are determined to operate our business responsibly with an eco-friendly mindset. We are honored that DKSH is equally aware of current environmental challenges and ready to take action with us by selecting BYD's T3 100% electric van as the preferred logistics vehicle. We are confident that this product will allow DKSH to remain ahead of its competitors in a responsible way.”
Over the recent years the world has faced increasing environmental threats, especially air pollution stemming from carbon emissions and PM 2.5 fine particles caused by vehicle fuel emission. In response, promoting clean energy solutions have become highly relevant to DKSH's business operation and sustainability goals. With the employment of electric vehicles, such as BYD's T3 model, DKSH takes responsibility for its environmental impacts and safeguards the health and wellbeing of Thai people.
