Media release
Zurich, September 28, 2020 – DKSH Business Unit Performance Materials has become the distribution partner for Eastman in the Asia Pacific region. Under the agreement, DKSH will provide marketing and sales, as well as distribution and logistics for Eastman's broad range of specialty materials, which can be used in various hair and color care applications.
Eastman has a long history of providing specialty ingredients to the personal care and cosmetics industry. The company has a wide variety of products available, from adhesion promoters to film formers to emollient esters, to help boost product performance.
Axieo, a company recently acquired by DKSH, has provided services to Eastman for over 30 years in Australia. DKSH was chosen for its expertise in the personal care industry, its extensive distribution network and long-standing history in Asia, and its proven track record of sales, marketing and distribution.
“As a specialty materials company, we continue to expand our inhouse R&D and formulation skills and capabilities. Complementary to this, we will now also be drawing on the valuable formulation expertise of DKSH, a company deeply rooted in communities across the Asia Pacific region that has its own labs. This will help local customers get access to our personal care and cosmetics innovations more swiftly and easily,” said Christian Derbez, Director, APAC Region, Eastman.
Roland Kraut, Vice President, Global Personal Care Industry, Performance Materials, DKSH added: “We have a dedicated team of more than 100 personal care specialists who understand the language of the brand owners in the Asia Pacific region. We are excited about this relationship and look forward to putting Eastman's products in the spotlight in this important market.”
