Patient Purpose Day was designed with this in mind—serving not just as an initiative, but as a platform to inspire and unify our teams and partners around a shared commitment to improving patient care. Through effective communication and a strong embodiment of our dedication to prioritizing patients, we aimed to reinforce our presence in patients’ minds.
What is Patient Purpose Day?
Held annually each September in conjunction with World Patient Safety Day, Patient Purpose Day is celebrated across our markets in Asia. It brings together employees, clients, and customers through a series of on-site activities aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and raising awareness of health priorities in each region. In 2024, the initiative centered on the theme of “Elder Care,” addressing the growing needs of aging populations in our communities.

Local Empowerment, Regional Impact
One of the key success drivers of this initiative was empowering our local market teams to lead with autonomy. Each team selected activities, NGOs, and initiatives best suited to their local context. As a result, we saw a rich variety of impactful efforts, including health screenings, educational workshops, and donation drives. This approach ensured that every activation genuinely addressed real community needs while also encouraging broad employee participation.
Collaboration in Action
To ensure smooth execution, we formed a special working team made up of passionate individuals from various departments. This cross-functional collaboration allowed us to pool expertise, resources, and insights—leading to an efficient rollout that allowed us to stay on track with timelines and deliver meaningful results.
Meaningful Outcomes Across Markets
The reach and results of Patient Purpose Day 2024 were both impressive and inspiring:
• Purposeful activities across 11 DKSH Healthcare markets generating a total value of CHF 121,350
• Active participation of more than 300 employees and 18 partners
• Initiatives reached 3,759 patients, spreading health knowledge and care
• CHF 50,530 was donated to support elder communities
• Strong media attention with coverage in 183 outlets across APAC, resulting in a news clipping value of CHF 288,574
