DKSH is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, one of Thailand’s leading medical school hospitals, to introduce “SiMPC Services”, a cutting-edge facility advancing precision medicine and research excellence.
Bangkok, Thailand, July 30, 2025 – DKSH Thailand Business Unit Technology, a leader in market expansion services, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Waters Corporation to launch “SiMPC Services,” a premier molecular and phenomics analysis facility operated by the Siriraj Metabolomics and Phenomics Center (SiMPC) in collaboration with the Department of Biochemistry. The center aims to advance national research capabilities and elevate Thailand’s presence on the international scientific stage.
“SiMPC Services” allows comprehensive analysis of small biomolecules from clinical samples such as blood, urine, and stool, as well as from natural extracts, herbal medicines, supplements, and economic crops. These capabilities support bioactive compound discovery, precision diagnostics, and the development of commercially viable innovations using advanced technologies such as IM-MS, LC-MS/MS, and GC-MS/MS.
Ongoing research at SiMPC supports diagnosis and treatment for chronic conditions such as kidney disease, lung cancer, liver disorders, and skin diseases. By leveraging metabolomics and phenomics, the center aims to develop targeted diagnostics and therapies that enhance public health and drive innovation in Thailand’s bioeconomy.
“This collaboration signing marks a significant milestone in uniting the strengths of the public and private sectors to reinforce Thailand’s research ecosystem and to reaffirm the center’s role as a leader in health innovation, medical advancements, and the bio-industry,” said Professor Dr. Yongyuth Sirivatanauksorn, Director of Siriraj Hospital.
“DKSH is ready to support this research center with our team of dedicated specialists, application scientists, and technical service experts. From installation and training to ongoing maintenance and consultation, our goal is to support the center in achieving seamless operation and long-term success.” said Mr. Kongsak Ermukdakul, Managing Director, Business Unit Technology, DKSH Thailand.
Pooja Mayee, General Manager, SEA at Waters Corporation, added: “Waters is proud to support this mission by providing state-of-the-art analytical technologies, including advanced mass spectrometry and chromatography platforms. Our collaboration will focus on enabling high-impact research and supporting clinical translation through Siriraj’s Lab2Market initiative.”
About SiMPC
The Siriraj Metabolomics and Phenomics Center (SiMPC) was established on June 4, 2015, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Yongyuth Sirivatanauksorn, Director of Siriraj Hospital and SiMPC. The center’s mission is to advance molecular-level research and drive the development of precision medicine through interdisciplinary integration. SiMPC focuses on strengthening laboratory infrastructure, bioinformatics research, and metabolite analysis from a wide range of biological samples using advanced technologies such as LC-MS/MS, GC×GC-TOFMS, and high-resolution Mass Spectrometry Imaging. In addition, the center has developed the Metabox 2.0 platform for comprehensive metabolomics data analysis and created the SiMD (Siriraj Metabolomics Data Warehouse), a free-access database serving the public. SiMPC has published over 60 research articles in international journals and has applied its findings in studies related to chronic diseases, cancer, precision medicine, and precision nutrition. The center also actively organizes training sessions and academic conferences to enhance the international competitiveness and capacity of Thai researchers. https://www.si.mahidol.ac.th/th/research-academics/research/simpc/index.html
