DKSH has announced today the acquisition of the third-party distribution business of Spanish food and pharmaceutical ingredients producer and distributor HTBA. The transaction is in line with DKSH's strategy to increase its presence in specialty chemicals and ingredients distribution in Europe.
Zurich, Switzerland, December 21, 2021 – The acquisition of the third-party distribution business of HTBA (HealthTech BioActives) allows DKSH to broaden its supplier portfolio, thereby strengthening its position in the food and pharma ingredients industry on the Iberian Peninsula.
HTBA produces and distributes a range of value-added flavors and ingredients, additives, and intermediates to customers in the food, pharmaceutical, and personal care industry worldwide.
Thomas Sul and Natale Capri, Co-Heads Business Unit Performance Materials at DKSH, jointly said: “By acquiring the distribution business of HTBA, we obtain an attractive portfolio which is complementary to our established business, grants us deeper access to the attractive life sciences industries, and allows us to further leverage our existing food and pharma ingredients business in Spain and Portugal.”
The distribution business of HTBA generates net sales of approximately CHF 6 million¹ at sound profitability and return on capital. DKSH will acquire 100% of the distribution business and fully integrate it into its existing operations in Spain and Portugal.
