DKSH Expands Satellite Distribution Model to Enhance Medical Device Delivery Across Thailand
Delivering on its mission to provide healthcare for all, DKSH expands its satellite distribution center model to enhance nationwide access to critical medical devices. This strategic move directly responds to Thailand’s rising healthcare demand, driven by an aging population, the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, and their effort to become a leading medical tourism and innovation hub.

Bangkok, Thailand, July 4, 2025 – DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a strategic healthcare solutions partner and leading provider of Market Expansion Services for pharmaceutical, over-the-counter (OTC), consumer health and medical device companies, is scaling up its regional distribution model across Thailand. With the new distribution center model, DKSH has initiated the transformation of its nine nationwide drop-off points into a network of satellite distribution centers, starting with the first official site in the northern region. This allows DKSH to optimize deliveries to hospitals, enabling healthcare professionals to respond more efficiently to patient needs.
Expanding a Nationwide Distribution Backbone
DKSH’s efforts are related to the strong growth trajectory of the medical device market in Thailand, which is driven by rising demand in private healthcare, a significant rebound in medical tourism[1], and a fast-growing elderly population necessitating increased chronic and preventive care[2]. Furthermore, Thailand is expected to become a leader in high-tech medical device innovation as the Medical & Wellness Hub initiative aims to boost local innovation and production of high-tech medical device production.
With more than 70% of Thailand’s medical devices still imported3, resilient national distribution capacity has become a key enabler of healthcare transformation. DKSH’s established partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers nationwide alongside the new satellite distribution center model are pivotal in meeting the growing demand for fast, reliable, and equitable access to healthcare technologies, especially in non-urban areas.
Earlier this year, DKSH launched its first satellite medical device distribution center in Northern Thailand, cutting delivery times in the Northern region to just 2 hours, setting a new standard for medical device responsiveness. This milestone marks a shift toward a more agile, decentralized network that empowers healthcare providers to serve patients faster and more effectively.
Moreover, DKSH operates state-of-the-art distribution centers across Thailand, including Sripetch (SPDC), Medical Device (MDDC), and Srivarin (SVDC) Distribution Centers. These facilities serve over 40,000 healthcare delivery points nationwide, with real-time digital inventory and automated systems that drive operational efficiency and compliance.
Patrik Grande, Regional Head of Commercial Outsourcing APAC and Cluster Head, DKSH Healthcare, said: “Timely treatment starts with reliable access. By expanding our smart infrastructure and scaling regional distribution, we are helping hospitals across Thailand receive critical medical devices faster and more efficiently. This is how we support Thailand’s Medical & Wellness Hub strategy, and how we bring our purpose of delivering healthcare for all to life, every single day.”
Beyond Logistics: Advancing Specialized, Sustainable care
With an extensive portfolio spanning specialties ranging from cardiology and diagnostics to ophthalmology and diabetes care. DKSH is committed to partnering with hospitals and healthcare providers to support the decentralization of care – enabling faster treatment and better outcomes, especially in underserved areas.
With nearly 120 years of experience in Thailand and a presence across 16 markets in Asia Pacific and Switzerland, DKSH is a trusted partner for healthcare companies seeking sustainable growth. As Thailand advances its vision to become a regional leader in medical innovation and wellness, DKSH continues to support this ambition by delivering scale, expertise, and purpose-driven solutions that strengthen the healthcare ecosystem.
