Enriching People’s Lives by Harnessing Renewable Energy From Solar Panels in Taiwan

Asia Pacific is the largest renewable energy market globally and accounts for almost 30 percent of the world market. According to the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, Taiwan plans to generate 20 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2025, with significantly less coal, more liquified natural gas, and increased renewables.

When thinking about designing a new healthcare distribution center in Taiwan, DKSH wanted to create a structure to harness clean and renewable energy that will provide better benefits to the environment and communities in the market.

The distribution center has a solar rooftop with 3,500 photovoltaic panels that feeds the renewable energy back into the national grid, contributing to the overall decarbonization of Taiwan’s energy supply. The building also has an energy-efficient power supply system and a smart Building Management System providing round-the-clock surveillance of the building’s vital structures and systems, automatically adjusting to changes in conditions.
