Jakarta, Indonesia, October 19, 2020 – DKSH has partnered with Cikarang Dry Port (CDP), Indonesia's public dry port offering one-stop service solutions for cargo handling and logistics for international export and import as well as domestic distribution. Through this partnership and by using CDP’s domestic rail freight cargo services from Greater Jakarta to Surabaya, East Java, DKSH aims to operate its supply chain in a more time-efficient and environmentally conscious manner, continuing its three consecutive years of effort to offset carbon footprint progressively.

This is the first collaboration between DKSH Business Units Performance Materials and Technology. An initial trial to ship high-quality raw materials from Jakarta to Surabaya had taken place in November 2019, prior to this partnership. The following shipments up until this date have been running smoothly, adhering to the health and safety protocols. Going forward, PT Wicaksana, DKSH’s subsidiary in Indonesia, will start to use CDP services to ship Consumer Goods and Healthcare products, integrating the supply chain management of both DKSH entities in Indonesia.

CDP is a dry port strategically located in the heart of industrial manufacturing zone in the eastern corridor of Greater Jakarta. It began its operation in 2010 with a total area of 200 hectares. It is managed and operated by PT Cikarang Inland Port, a subsidiary of publicly listed PT Jababeka Tbk, known as KIJA in Indonesia Stock Exchange, and becomes the first and only Integrated Customs Services Zone in Indonesia. As an inland dry port model, CDP provides alternatives and solution for the surrounding industries to bypass challenges and issues at the major import export gateway of Tanjung Priok port.

Benny Woenardy, Managing Director of Cikarang Dry Port (CDP) was excited at the prospect of the partnership “We really appreciate and feel honored to partner up with DKSH. We hope it would be mutually beneficial for both parties. DKSH with their vast experience and major global existence would bring more businesses, while we at Cikarang Dry Port would assist by providing efficient and reliable logistics through our integrated facilities.”

Tay Lim Pin, Head, Country Management of DKSH Indonesia stated: “Route optimization is key to operate more efficiently. Not only that we are thrilled the collaboration can generate added value for the Indonesian environment, but also for the national industry, through the provision of daily supplies and necessities for the Indonesian consumers, especially during challenging times like these."
