DKSH and Baan Dek Foundation Unite to Empower Families in Construction Site Camps Across Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand, November 4, 2025 – DKSH Thailand, a leading Market Expansion Services provider in Asia, has extended its partnership with Baan Dek Foundation for the second consecutive year, contributing over THB 8,000,000 in financial assistance and in-kind product donations to promote better health and well-being among families in need across construction site camps in Thailand. Families living in construction-site camps and urban slums often face significant barriers in accessing basic health information and medical services. By combining practical health education with access to health screening and essential supplies, the partnership between DKSH and Baan Dek Foundation helps bridge these gaps. This initiative empowers families to make informed health decisions, fostering stronger and healthier communities.

Building Healthier Communities Through Education and Screening

At the heart of this partnership are interactive learning sessions about basic healthcare awareness led by DKSH Business Unit Healthcare in collaboration with Baan Dek Foundation. These sessions translate essential health knowledge into practical, engaging activities that families can easily apply in their daily lives. In parallel, Baan Dek Foundation partnered with the Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention (IUDC) to deliver on-site health check services for communities that usually face difficulties in accessing the healthcare system ensuring that education, prevention, and access are seamlessly connected.

“At DKSH, we believe that knowledge is one of the most powerful tools for improving lives,” said Larry Merizalde, Vice President, Business Unit Healthcare, DKSH Thailand. “For families in vulnerable communities, access to basic health information can be transformative. It means fewer preventable illnesses, more confidence in caring for loved ones, and stronger, healthier communities overall.”

Expanding Collaboration for Greater Impact in 2025

Building on the momentum from 2024, DKSH has broadened its support through the active engagement of its Business Unit Healthcare, alongside contributions from its partners of the Business Unit Consumer Goods. This collective effort includes both financial assistance and extensive in-kind donations, ranging from food and household cleaning products to hygiene essentials and basic healthcare supplies.

Working closely with communities from construction site camps and urban slums, Baan Dek Foundation designed activities tailored to community needs, ensuring inclusivity and local relevance. With IUDC providing technical expertise and support, DKSH contributed essential healthcare knowledge, in-kind resources, and on-ground support to ensure the initiative aligned with city-wide health and education priorities.  Together, the partners turned a shared commitment to well-being into tangible improvements for families, helping build stronger, more resilient communities.

“Sustainable progress happens when sectors come together around a shared purpose,” said Lene Andersen, Executive Director, Baan Dek Foundation. “Through our programs, we work hand in hand with partners like IUDC, DKSH, and the construction sector to connect public health priorities with the everyday realities of communities in need. By equipping them with practical knowledge and connecting them to essential services, we are laying the foundation for inclusivity that benefits people, businesses and society as a whole.”

This partnership marks another milestone in DKSH’s ongoing social impact journey, reflecting the company’s belief that sustainable progress begins with empowering people and strengthening communities from within. By investing in partnerships that deliver practical outcomes and measurable impact, DKSH affirms its long-term commitment to improving health, building resilience, and creating better opportunities for families and communities in Thailand.
