Challenge

A copper tube manufacturer based in Malaysia was faced with frequent spindle breakdowns and stator failure at its premise. As a result, production of the company’s products, which were widely used within the Malaysian market’s air conditioning and refrigeration industry, was not achieving its optimum efficiency.

They needed to find a reliable service partner who was able to provide fast and effective spindle repair services to help them reduce their machine downtime and improve productivity.

Approach

DKSH conducted thorough integrity tests and leak tests to identify the root cause of the issue. At the end of the tests, a failure analysis report was provided to the customer followed with a recommended solution to overcome the cause of the failure. After the spindles were fully diagnosed and repaired, an eight-hour quality test run was conducted to ensure that the spindle was running at optimum condition and achieving maximum operation capacity. In the end, a comprehensive service report was submitted before dispatching the spindles back to the customers.

DKSH’s approach was to treat both the symptoms and causes of the problems faced by the company. In addition to tests, DKSH also performed preventive diagnoses and offered our advice on how best to extend the lifetime of spindles to keep operations running smoothly.

Result

The manufacturer reported an improved spindle life span as well as recorded a notable improvement in production efficiency for their machines.
