The client was looking for a faster response time on the delivery of its intraocular lens (IOL) used in eye surgeries for hospitals in Singapore. In addition, they needed to reduce consignment levels at hospitals to overcome high inventory levels and costs.
We proposed having dedicated motorbikes to reduce the delivery time of the lens. We also recommended using designated employees to oversee the entire end-to-end process (pick, pack and deliver), making it more streamlined and more efficient.
The response time for urgent delivery of IOLs from our warehouse to hospitals was much faster, while the lead time itself for each delivery was reduced by half from before the new dedicated solution bike delivery was introduced.
DKSH recorded delivery fulfillment of 100 percent in the subsequent six months after introducting the new process. The solution is also designed in compliant with quality guidelines and standards. This is considered as successful preparation to the next phase of implementation: reduction in inventory costs for the client and a better response time to customer needs.
