Aircraft maintenance service company gets production boost in Singapore

Challenge

As our client is currently utilizing several different machines to process and produce one specific part of an aircraft engine, they were seeking a turnkey solution that would use only a single machine to achieve the same task. With this, the company could also save time and maximize production capabilities.

Approach

DKSH’s turnkey services in this project include sourcing for the ideal cutting tools and work holding parts that are most suitable for the applications required by the client.

The computer numerical control (CNC) machine solution provided by DKSH will be programmed to run based on the client’s specific requirements. Once everything is ready, customers can run the machine at a push of a button.

After the set-up, the service team will then provide start-up support, training and process optimization and run a few test cuts to ensure that customers’ satisfaction is met before concluding the project.

Result

With the newly programmed CNC machine, less setup time and machines will be required. This can step up production and efficiency tremendously by increasing output up to 50 percent.

In addition, because of the fast response provided by the sales and service team on this project, the client is already looking to integrate its automation system, such as the use of robots into the CNC machine and transform it into an unmanned system so that no manpower is required to operate the machine.
